Take control of the HDMI handshake
The HDfury DR HDMI 8K is a 48Gbps HDMI 2.1 EDID manager, emulator and repeater that sits between your source and your display or AV receiver. It gives you one controlled, inspectable point in the chain: you decide exactly which capabilities the source is shown, and you can see live what both sides are actually reporting.
That matters because most HDMI faults are negotiation faults. A black screen, a dropped 4K120 mode, missing VRR, Dolby Vision that refuses to engage, Atmos that silently falls back to PCM — in nearly every case the source and the sink have agreed on something you did not intend. Without visibility you end up swapping cables and power-cycling boxes, changing several variables at once and learning nothing. DR HDMI 8K replaces that with a process.
What it does
- Advanced EDID management. Copy the connected sink’s EDID, select from 100 predefined EDID tables, upload custom EDID data, or copy the sink EDID and modify only the capabilities you want to change.
- Video capability control. Set the advertised FRL rate, VRR, ALLM and HDR modes so the source sees precisely the capability set you want to test.
- Dolby Vision and LLDV tools. Read the sink’s Dolby Vision data block and build a custom DV data block through the built-in web interface.
- Live diagnostics on the hardware. A 128×64 OLED shows RX and TX state, FRL rate, EDID details, firmware version and network information without a computer.
- Browser and IP control. Connect the RJ45 port to your network and drive the unit from any browser, with DHCP or a static IP, plus IP and Telnet command workflows for integrators.
- Audio capability control. Inspect and change the advertised audio flags — PCM, Dolby TrueHD, DD+, DTS-HD, DTS:X, Atmos and the rest.
- Signal boosting. Equalevel equalisation on both input and output, and repeater capability for long runs: 1080p up to 15m in and 15m out, 10.2Gbps UHD up to 10m, 18Gbps UHD up to 5m.

It is a diagnostic and control instrument, not a magic box. It will not repair a failing cable or add bandwidth a display does not have. What it does is let you change one variable at a time and see the result.

Frequently asked
Will it fix my black screen?
It will show you why you have one. In most chains the cause is an EDID or FRL negotiation the source and sink settled on without you. Once you can see and change that, the fix usually follows. If the cause is a failing cable or a display that genuinely lacks the bandwidth, DR HDMI 8K will tell you that too — which is worth knowing before you buy another cable.
Do I need a computer to use it?
No. The OLED and rotary switch cover the common operations. The web server gives you the full feature set, including the Dolby Vision tools and custom EDID work, from any browser on your network.
Does it add input lag?
Below 1 ms, so it is not a factor for gaming.
Will it let my 4K60 TV display 8K?
No. It manages what capabilities are advertised and negotiated; it does not upscale, convert or add bandwidth a display does not have.
